Temporary email

An inbox for the sign-ups you don't trust.

A temporary email address is a real, working inbox you can throw away. Use it to receive a verification code or a download link without handing over your real address. Then let it burn.

When a throwaway address makes sense

  • One-time sign-ups. Wi-Fi portals, whitepapers, coupons, free trials and forums you'll visit once.
  • Keeping spam out. Your real inbox never ends up on a marketing list or in the next data breach.
  • Testing your own app. Developers and QA teams check sign-up and password-reset flows with fresh addresses, by hand or through the API.
  • Privacy. The site never learns your real email, so it can't link this account to everything else you use.

Built to be private

  • No logs, no disk. Inboxes live in memory only and nothing about your visits is recorded.
  • Trackers blocked. Tracking pixels and remote images don't load until you say so, so senders can't tell when you opened their mail.
  • Safe to open. Emails are cleaned and shown in a locked-down frame that can't run scripts.
  • Burns itself. When the timer ends, the inbox and its mail are deleted for good.

Questions

Is Mailware free?

Yes. There is no account, no plan and no limit on how many inboxes you open.

How long does a temporary inbox last?

One hour by default. You can extend it, or pick 10 minutes, 1 day or 1 week under Customize. When the timer runs out, the inbox and every email in it are deleted for good.

Can I send email from a temporary address?

No. Mailware only receives mail. That keeps it from being used to send spam.

Can I get a burned inbox back?

No. Nothing is stored on disk and nothing is logged, so once an inbox burns its mail is gone. Don't use a temporary address for accounts you want to keep.

Why do some sites reject temporary email addresses?

Some sign-up forms check addresses against lists of disposable email providers. If one domain is refused, switch to another domain in the address menu.

Is it private?

Mailware keeps no logs and needs no account. Remote images and tracking pixels are blocked until you choose to load them, and each inbox can only be opened with the private key held by your browser.
